STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Linebacker Graham Stewart, who returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against Ohio State in last season's Gator Bowl, has transferred from Florida to Connecticut.

UConn says the 6-foot-1, 227-pound Stewart, a native of Durham, Conn., has already enrolled in summer school. He will have to sit out next season under NCAA rules, but will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Stewart played sparingly for the Gators last season, recording one tackle and scoring his lone touchdown in the bowl game.

He helped Xavier High in Middletown to the Connecticut LL state championship in 2010, recording 11 tackles, with five sacks and an interception.
