HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- So they might meet again. UConn lost to Notre Dame last night for the third time this season and for the Big East Tournament title. This Notre Dame team has been a source of frustration to the Huskies for a few years now.

The frustration is mounting.

"And I'm hoping everyone is starting to get sick of this feeling 'cause I know I am," said UConn Senior Kelly Faris.

"It's really old, you know? No one wants to lose to the same team however many times it's been," said UConn Sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis.

After last night'slast second win by the Irish, you can make it 7 out of 8 times UConn has lost to Notre Dame and the third time this year.

"We know that we're just as good as them," said UConn Junior Stefanie Dolson.

Beating them is another story. The Huskies had another great opportunity last night. They had the ball in the final seconds with a shot to win it but the shot never materialized.

"I could've done a lot more with the ball rather than drive to the baseline. There's just a lot of options I could have chose other than what I did," said Faris.

"We gotta step up and be aggressive and make that shot or at least take the shot. We didn't even get a shot. That can't happen," said UConn Junior Bria Hartley.

In the last Big East tournament championship, the Irish walked away with their first tournament title.

It's the last time UConn and Notre Dame will meet in a conference match up but there is a chance they could see each other again at the Final Four.

"Do you hope you get one more crack at it," asked News 8's John Pierson.

"Definitely. I definitely do," said Hartley.

"We're gonna meet Notre Dame again and it's not gonna be the same story. We're gonna be angry until we play 'em again," said Mosqueda-Lewis.

"I don't think any team is gonna wanna see us in the tournament," said Dolson.
