UConn to play in PapaJohns.com Bowl

(WTNH) - The UConn football team has accepted a bid to play in the PapaJohns.com Bowl. The Huskies will play South Carolina on January 2nd in Birmingham, Alabama.

Kick-off is 2 p.m. eastern time.

This will be the third consecutive bowl appearance for Randy Edsall and his Connecticut Huskies.

On Saturday night, UConn wrapped up a 7-5 regular season with a last second win over South Florida.

Overall, UConn will be making the schools 4th bowl game appearance.

The Huskies are 2 and 1 in their previous bowl games, winning the Motor City and International Bowls while losing in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
