(WTNH) -- From their play right down to the attendance, Ray Reid UConn Huskies have one of the premir soccer programs in the country, advancing towards the natinnal championship with a 2-1 win over New Mexico.

The Lobos opened the scoring when Devon Sandoval got one past Andre Blake, the Big East's goal keeper of the year.

With about 14 minutes to play the Huskies got the equalizer with a header from Mamadou Diof, his 15th of the year. That sent it into overtime.

In OT, UConn freshman Nicholas Zuniga from Norwalk plays the role of hero with the winning goal, the first of his career. UConn survives and advances.

UConn will play Creighton in the NCAA Quarterfinal in Storrs at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2.
