UConn sophomore Engeln to transfer

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut forward Lauren Engeln has been granted permission to transfer.

Engeln, a seldom-used sophomore forward, had averaged 1.4 points in 55 games for the Huskies.

Coach Geno Auriemma issued a statement Monday saying Engeln, who is from Laguna Hills, Calif., expressed a desire to transfer closer to her home.

Neither UConn nor Engeln have said where she plans to play.
