HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- It's a big night for the UConn women who are playing Notre Dame for the Big East tournament championship.
News 8's John Pierson is live at the XL Center in Hartford.
This is the third time this year the two teams will face off.
It has been one sided lately with Notre Dame coming out on top however they have not beaten UConn in the Big East tournament championship.
This will be the third straight year the Huskies and Irish meet for the title.
UConn has 18 championships and Notre Dame is still looking for its first.
Last night News 8's Pierson spoke with both sides and asked if they hated each other.
"You don't necessarily hate 'em 'cause I would never say I hate someone or a team but I think it's that we play them so many times and so many close games. I think it's just competitive," said UConn Junior Bria Hartley.
"If you're at this level, you can't let teams get in your head and if you do that, you're going to be immediately...have no chance," said UConn Senior Kelly Faris.
"It's tough to beat a team 3 times, especially a team as good as they are so I won't say I'm looking forward to it," said Notre Dame Head Coach Muffet McGraw.
