HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Typically after a UConn women's basketball game head coach Geno Auriemma takes about 20 minutes to come in and talk to the media. Last night, after a loss to Baylor, it took more like an hour.
It wasn't until after midnight that the dissapointed coach came in to talk about the loss.
The Huskies were beaten by Baylor, the top ranked team in the country. Baylor's top player Brittany Griner was held to 4 points in the 1st half and exploded for 21 in the second.
In that second half, the Bears looked like the better team and Auriemma agreed...
"And maybe we're just not good enough. You know, maybe we're just not good enough. We can't win these games individually, we have to win them collectively and collectively we weren't good enough," said Auriemma.
"I am tired, you know, my body's sore but it's nothing that hurts more than the loss to be honest with you. I mean, losing just sucks so as bad as I hurt, you know, my body, I'm tired, it's late. It doesn't really matter that much because we lost," said Stefanie Dolson.
The Huskies return to action on Saturday against Seton Hall.
