SALEM, Conn. (WTNH) -- One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 85 in Salem this morning.
The accident happened on Route 85, near Skyline Drive.
Police said 41-year-old Thomas Morlarty, of Springfield, MA, was driving northbound on Route 85, when 55-year-old Richard Banning, who was driving southbound on Route 85 crossed into the northbound lane striking his vehicle.
Banning, of East Hampton, was killed as a result of the crash.
Route 85 was closed in both directions for several hours following the accident. The road has since re-opened.
The incident remains under investigation.
