NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) -- One person was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Norwalk early Monday morning.
The accident occurred around 12:15 a.m., on the Merritt Parkway southbound, just prior to Exit 40B.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a vehicle that had left the roadway and traveled down an embankment.
Norwalk fire officials said there was a small fire that a state trooper extinguished prior to the fire department's arrival.
Officials said the 7 series BMW had extensive damage to the car and the lone male occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
State Police are investigating the accident.
