1 killed in wrong-way crash on Route 9

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Rocky Hill woman was killed in a three-car accident in Newington early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred just after midnight, on Route 9 Southbound, near Exit 29.

Police said 28-year-old Agnes Wiktorek, of 106 West St., Rocky Hill, was driving the wrong way on Route 9S when she struck another vehicle head-on, then subsequently struck a second vehicle.

Both drivers that were struck by Wiktorek were taken to the hospital and treated for minor to moderate injuries.

Wiktorek was pronounced dead at the scene.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
