NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two pedestrians were taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Norwich Friday night.
The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m., in the area of 380 Hamilton Ave.
Police said a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene north on Hamilton Ave. towards Preston.
A witness described the offending vehicle as a dark-colored, four door sedan with heavy front end damage, operated by a black woman.
Police said it is believed that another vehicle that was not involved in the accident was traveling behind the offending vehicle, and may have witnessed the accident.
Police are attempting to locate and identify both the offending vehicle and occupants of the uninvolved vehicle.
Both victims were taken to William Backus Hospital.
The man was discharged with minor injuries. The woman is listed in critical, but stable condition.
