3 injured in head-on crash in Canton

    CANTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Three people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision in Canton Tuesday.

    The accident occurred just before 10 a.m., on Route 44 in Canton.

    Police said a Jeep Liberty traveling west on Route 44 crossed the double yellow line and crashed head-on into a community response van. The van is a medical transport vehicle that transports people to hospitals.

    Both drivers and a patient in the van were taken to area hospitals, UConn and St. Francis, with non-life threatening injuries.

    Police have not released any ID's, but they do say all three were females.
