80-year-old hit by dump truck

NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- An elderly man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a dump truck in Newtown Tuesday.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m., at Welch's Mulch, on Toddy Hill Road.

Upon arrival emergency personnel found an 80-year-old man had been hit by a dump truck.

The man was taken to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
