Accident on public road involving a dirt bike

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- An adolescent was involved in a serious accident on a dirt bike, police say.

Police said that the dirt bike was being operated on a public road when the driver lost control and crashed.

The operator was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment with undisclosed injuries.

The incident was reported via 911 phone calls around 4:40 p.m. Sunday.

Any witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the North Haven Police Department.

The investigation is on-going.
