Boy struck by vehicle in Trumbull

TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) -- A boy was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Trumbull Wednesday.
The accident occurred just before 4 p.m., on White Plains Road, Route 127.
Police said that it appears a boy, approximately 13 years old, was attempting to cross the road near where it intersects with Reservoir Ave.
A vehicle in southbound lane stopped for the boy as he crossed. Then he was either struck or ran into the side of another southbound vehicle adjacent to the first one.
White Plains Road is a four-lane road with two lanes in each direction.
The boy appeared to have sustained serious leg and arm injuries. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital.
The incident remains under investigation.
