Car bursts into flames on Route 8

SEYMOUR, Conn. (WTNH) -- A car burst into flames on Route 8 Saturday morning.

Police say that a 1-car accident happened on Route 8 southbound, just after exit 22 on a bridge.

The accident caused the car to erupt into flames and as a result of the fire, Route 8 was temporarily shut down in the vicinity.

There is no word on the cause of the accident or if any injuries were reported.

The accident was reported at approximately 7 a.m. Saturday.
