Car hits tractor trailer, two people die

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two people were killed in an accident involving a parked tractor trailer Sunday morning.
Police say that a car drifted off of Route 25 north shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday and struck a tractor trailer that was parked in the right shoulder. The collision happened just before exit 4.
The driver of the car, Jennifer Edwards, 51, and the passenger, Edwin Thomas, 36, both sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Although the driver of the tractor trailer, Elias Londono, 64, was not in the vehicle, Londono suffered minor injuries. They were not life-threatening and Londono refused medical treatment.
The car, an Acura TL, was totaled in the crash.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
