TOLLAND, Conn. (WTNH) -- A four-car crash on Route 31 led to several injuries Thursday evening.
Police say that one vehicle sideswiped two other vehicles coming from the other direction, which resulted in a fourth vehicle slamming into a mailbox, as the driver tried to avoid a head-on collision.
At least five people were sent to area hospitals and the operator of the car that swiped two other cars was transported to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar.
The severity of the injuries is not known at this time.
Route 31, in the area of the accident, was closed for several hours Thursday evening.
