CHARLEMONT, Mass. (AP) — A Connecticut motorcyclist is dead after a car driven by a Massachusetts teen allegedly crossed the center line on a Charlemont highway and hit him.
The Northwestern District Attorney's office said Douglas Chouinard of Enfield died Saturday evening at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
The district attorney's office said the 56-year-old Chouinard was travelling east on Route 2 at about 4 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a car driven by 17-year-old Jacob Earl of Buckland.
Earl was issued a criminal citation for negligent operation and failure to stay in marked lanes. State police are investigating the accident, and the district attorney said additional charges may be filed, depending on the outcome of the probe.
A number for Earl couldn't immediately be located and he couldn't be reached for comment.
