WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A tractor trailer crash on I-95 northbound closed a section of the highway from East Lyme into Waterford for twelve hours Wednesday.. Three people were injured, two critically.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. and involved a truck and a Chevy TrailBlazer SUV. Both vehicles ended up in the woods.
The interstate was closed between exits 76 and 81. Traffic was diverted to I-395 north and then back south on Route 85 to reconnect with I-95.
Two women were in the SUV. Police identified them as Patricia Slebbins of Westerly, RI, and Darla Holly. Th truck was owned by New England Motor Frieght Inc. and driven by Sherman Adams. They were all taken to the hospital for treatment.
No other details about how the crash occurred have been released.
