LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Route 12 is reopened in Ledyard after a one-car crash Tuesday.
The road was shut down after a car crashed into a pole near Long Cover Road.
The Ledyard Police Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, and paramedics were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Officials say the pole snapped after a 2000 Nissan crashed into it. Wires on the pole were brought down as a result of the crash.
The driver, 87-year-old Paul Lunt, was transported to William Backus Hospital to be treated for non-serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
