SOMERS, Conn. (WTNH) -- The driver of a motorcycle died when he drove into a utility pole and his body was thrown about 20 feet into the air, police said.
Police say that a motorcycle struck a utility pole in the vicinity of 31 Pioneer Heights in Somers Saturday night.
When fire department officials arrived on scene, the body of the male driver was found about 20 feet away from the point of collision.
The victim was rushed to Johnson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There were no other injuries and the accident remains under investigation.
