SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- An elderly Shelton man was pronounced dead after a two-car accident in town Monday morning.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m., in the area of Walnut Tree Hill Rd. by Short St.
After investigating, police determined that a 92-year-old Shelton man was exiting a driveway in his Honda, when his vehicle collided with a Mazda traveling north on Walnut Tree Hill Rd.
Police said the 92-year-old man had to be extricated from his vehicle. He did not have any visible injuries and was conscious and communicating, but he was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain.
The driver of the Mazda, a 24-year-old Shelton resident sustained minor injuries.
The elderly driver later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
