MONTVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) -- An elderly woman was killed after crashing her vehicle into a guardrail in Montville Wednesday.
The accident occurred noon, on I-395 Southbound.
Police said 73-year-old Edwina Maryeski, of 33 Hewitt Dr., Uncasville, was traveling in the left lane on I-395 south, at Exit 79a, when the vehicle drifted to the left, off the left side of the road and into the center median.
The vehicle then continued right across two lanes of traffic, through the Exit 79a gore area, across the on-ramp and crashed into the guard rail.
The vehicle then came to an uncontrolled stop on the right shoulder, against the guard rail, just south of the Exit 79a on-ramp.
Police said at this time it is undetermined whether Maryeski died as the result of a medical condition or fatal injures incurred in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
