ELLINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- An Ellington man was flown to the hospital after being hit by a car Wednesday night.
The accident happened at the intersection of West Road and Highland Avenue.
Officials said 32-year-old Melissa Fiengo, of 107 Frog Hollow Rd., was traveling south on Route 83 (West Road), approaching the intersection of Route 83 and the Big Y Plaza.
The vehicle was traveling through the intersection when a pedestrian, 25-year-old Michael Edmundson, of 100 Abbot Rd., emerged from behind vehicles that were stopped in the left southbound lane.
Edmundson was struck by the vehicle and transported by Lifestar to Hartford Hospital.
Edmundson is in critical condition.
