Exit 17 crash on I-84 leaves one woman dead

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A crash involving a tractor trailer on Friday claimed the life of one woman, police said.
Police say that Pamela Winston, 61, was traveling west on Route 64 after exiting I-84 westbound at Exit 17. A tractor trailer driven by Michael Ploch, 51, exited I-84 at the same location and collided with Winton's car.
The tractor trailer struck the driver's side of Winston's vehicle and as a result of the impact, Winston died.
Ploch was not injured in the accident and no charges have been filed yet.
The crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday.
Officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
