Fatal motorcycle accident in Oakville

    WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Around 11:40 p.m. Thursday, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in the Oakville section of Watertown.
     
    Police say the incident occurred at Buckingham Street in the area of the Sunnyside Ave. intersection.
     
    The motorcyclist, Mark Genereux, 42-years-old, of Oakville was pronounced dead at the scene. 
     
    An initial investigation showed that the motorcycle, a 1986 Harley Davidson, left the main travel portion of the roadway and struck a telephone pole. 
     
    The accident is being investigated by the Regional Accident Investigation Team.
     
    There were no apparent witnesses to the accident, if anyone from the community did see the accident please call the police department at 860-945-5200.
