Cement mixer closed I-84 in Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A motor vehicle accident on Interstate-84 eastbound shut down the highway shortly after 7 p.m. Monday. The road has since been reopened.
Officials say that a cement mixer fell off a truck and this forced a closure of the eastbound direction between exits 16 and 17.
The DOT is evaluating the condition of the road's surface since the cement mixed caused some damage to the highway.
The road was reopened as of 8:35 p.m. Monday.
There were no injuries reported.
