I-95 S has reopened following crash

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- An accident involving a jackknifed tractor trailer caused major delays along I-95 southbound Saturday morning.
Officials say that the accident happened shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday. A tractor trailer jackknifed between exits 19 and 18 on I-95 south.
The tractor trailer rolled down into an embankment and the driver escaped without injury.
A passenger vehicle was heavily damaged in the accident and the occupants had to be removed by firefighters using hydraulic rescue tools. The two occupants were sent to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The accident caused major delays as a portion of the interstate was closed after the accident. The roadway was completely cleared as of 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
In addition to fire department officials, DEEP HAZMAT, State Police and a towing recovery contractor had responded to the scene.
