Ledyard man killed in crash

GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Ledyard man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a truck in Groton.

Dereck Chaput, 28, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a truck at the intersection of Route 184 and Cow Hill Road in Groton just before 6 p.m. Monday night.

Officials from the Old Mystic Fire Department, Mystic River Ambulance, Lawrence and Memorial Paramedics and Groton Town Police were called to the scene.

Chaput was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else was injured in the incident.
