Man flown to hospital after crash

STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Burlington man was flown to the hospital after crashing his truck on I-95 in Stonington Thursday.

The crash occurred in the area of the Exit 91 southbound ramp.

State Police said Jeffrey Powers, 26, of 51 Case Rd., Burlington, was traveling southbound when his Ford pickup went off the left shoulder of the highway striking approximately 80 feet of wire rope guardrail.

He then continued south striking a tree in the median.

Powers was conscious and alert, but complained of neck pain.

He was taken via Lifestar to a Providence Hospital in Rhode Island.

The extent of his injury is unknown.
