SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident that left a motorcyclist in critical condition.
The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Sunday night.
Police said they received multiple 911 calls reporting an accident between a vehicle and a motorcycle on Leavenworth Rd., at the driveway entrance to the KellyNick LLC/Mont's Mart.
The driver of the motorcycle, 30-year-old Adam Haydu, of Monroe, sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital. He remains in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old James Steinmetz, also of Monroe, sustained minor injuries, but was not taken to the hospital for any treatment.
There were no occupants in the car or on the motorcycle.
Both the vehicle and the motorcycle sustained extensive damage.
The accident remains under investigation.
