Motorcyclist killed in school bus collision

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a school bus in New Milford Monday.

The accident occurred on Pickett District Road.

Police said preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle driver, 25-year-old Travis Lipton, of Aspetcuk Ridge Rd., was traveling west on Pickett District Rd., in the area of John Pettibone School, when he collided with an empty school bus being driven by 49-year-old Alicia Gardos, of Mine Hill Road.

Lipton was taken to New Milford Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Gardos was not injured in the crash.

The collision remains under investigation.
