One killed after car collides with tree

FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- One person was killed and two others were sent to the hospital after a car crashed into a tree in Farmington.

The car had crashed head-on into a tree on a dirt access road behind a home on Farmington Avenue just before 6 p.m. Sunday night.

The driver and the passenger in the front seat were transported to Hartford Hospital.

Forty-one year old Michael McCallum was sitting in the backseat. He was transported by Life Star helicopter to St. Francis Hospital, where he later died.

The accident is under investigation.
