FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A section of Route 4 was shut down in Torrington after police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
Police say a man was hit by a car while he was getting off of a bus. It happened on a busy Route 4 between Talcott Notch Road and South Road.
A Toyota Rav 4 hit the man and the driver remained on the scene.
The road was shut down in both directions for a few hours before it was reopened shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.
The name of the man who was hit has not been released.
