Woman killed in Route 79 in Durham

DURHAM, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman was hit and killed by a Jeep in Durham Wednesday evening.

The unidentified woman was walking along Route 79 around 6 o'clock when she was struck.

In this case, the driver of the Jeep did stop. It's unclear if the driver will face any charges.

Route 79 was closed in both directions between Sand Hill Road and South End Ave. as a result of the accident. It is been reopened.
