Route 8 reopened in Seymour

SEYMOUR, Conn. (WTNH) -- Route 8 southbound in Seymour was closed on Monday due to a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

The big rig shut down the road between exits 24 and 22 for several hours Monday afternoon.

A Report It picture shows the cab of the truck and the trailer completely blocked the road on an overpass.

The road has reopened, but the on and off ramps at exit 22 remain closed. Traffic is congested in the area.

No word yet on if anyone was injured in the incident.
