MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A collision involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle closed a portion of I-95 southbound in Milford early Sunday morning, police said.
Police say that a vehicle slowed down ahead of building traffic just beyond Exit 34 on I-95 south, when a motorcycle behind the vehicle did not slow down in time, causing a collision.
The motorcycle operator, Chaka Fagon, was thrown from his vehicle and came to a rest in the right lane. The time of the collision was about 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
The driver of the motorcycle was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. The motor vehicle driver, Jude Joseph, was also transported to the hospital, but for evaluation purposes only.
I-95 southbound was closed between Exits 34 and 32 for nearly three hours as a result of the accident. It was reopened around 4:30 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
A motorcyclist was killed a few hours earlier in an unrelated accident in Somers.
