BETHEL, Conn. (NewsTimes) -- The driver of a construction van was killed Tuesday morning after the van collided Tuesday morning with a parked dump truck whose driver had only moments before stepped out for lunch.

The truck's driver was shaken up, but not injured, after watching the accident unfold from across the street.

Bethel Police Chief Bill Finch said the driver of the van, whose identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin, was traveling east on Stony Hill Road when he apparently swerved into the opposing lane.
