Woman struck by car in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. (CT Post) -- A woman was struck by a car Friday night on Post Road East in Westport sending her to Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries.
Police shut down eastbound traffic near East Main Street as they investigated, diverting traffic at Compo Beach South. Only one lane remained open westbound.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. and police remained on scene at 8:30 p.m. Firefighters set up lighting at the scene.
