New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - It was quite a scene along I-91 in New Haven late Tuesday morning when a brush fire broke out along the highway.
Around 11:30 Tuesday morning the Report It pictures and video started flooding in of the smoke and flames.
The brush fire sent smoke billowing into the sky right along the northbound side of I-91 near exit 8 in New Haven.
Traffic slowed to a crawl as firefighters pulled their trucks on 91 and scrambled to put it out.
The fire roared for about 20 minutes and burned about 4 acres of land.
Luckily, no buildings were burned and no one was hurt.
The fire even crept right up to the railroad tracks. Amtrak officials said they were aware of the flames, but service was never suspended.
Still no word on a cause of the fire.
Firefighters were out in the same area for another fire on January 26.
