ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH) -- A new report is out lists the Boston Post Road as the most dangerous road for pedestrians in the state.
The report was produced by the Tri-State Transportation Campaign .
The group reports six pedestrians were killed on Route 1 between 2009 and 2011.
"Route 1 has been Connecticut's most deadly road for pedestrians since the Campaign's first Most Dangerous Roads for Walking report in 2008," Steven Higashide, a senior planner with the TSTC, said in a news release.
The deaths on Route 1 happened in Greenwich, Westport, Milford, Groton, and Mystic.
Route 66 and 44 each had three deaths recorded during those years.
Statewide, the group reports there were 100 pedestrian deaths from 2009-2011. Most of those deaths, 74 in total, occurred in Fairfield, Hartford, and New Haven counties.
