Old Lyme (WTNH) - Two incidents along a section of I-95 in Old Lyme have traffic at a crawl this afternoon.
A tractor trailer crashed and lost its load between 70 and 71. The trailer is lying in the southbound median, News Channel 8 Tina Detelj said.
According to officials on the scene, a flat bed trailer carrying a container went under a bridge at Flat Rock Hill Road and hit the bridge. The truck kept going, but the container fell off and broke apart.
Photos sent to News Channel 8 show a damaged truck and debris. @WTNH Twitter follower MLBarker, who took the pictures, said "Tractor trailer lost it's container. Didn't look like anyone was hurt!"
Another incident was ongoing nearby at Exit 72. According to state police, there was some sort of domestic dispute and a female was either pushed or jumped out of a vehicle.
State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said that incident happened around 2:00 pm. No other details were immediately available.
Video from the Department of Transportation traffic camera shows cars and trucks moving very slowly around Exit 71.
There was no information from the DOT on when things would be moving normally again.
