Granby, Conn. (WTNH) - Four people were injured following a two car accident in Granby.

It happened early Friday morning on Salmon Brook Street near the Massachusetts/Connecticut border.

Police originally told News 8 that one person died in the wreck, but have since corrected the information.

Two Lifestar helicopters were called to the scene to transfer two patients to area hospitals. Two others were transferred by ambulance.

Police say Stephen Beck, 20, of Bloomfield, was traveling south on Salmon Brook when he crossed into the northbound lane striking the other vehicle. Speed appears to have played a part in the accident. The passenger in Beck's car, 21-year old Gian Michael Fuschi, of Granby, had to be extricated from the vehicle. He suffered serious injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash should call police at 860-844-5335.

Salmon Brook was closed between East St. and the border for a more than four hours Friday morning.
