MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A tractor trailer struck a railroad overpass Thursday morning, causing major traffic backups.

Police say that around 10:45 a.m. the incident occurred. The truck was apparently making a right hand turn from Daniel Street onto River Street.

As the truck made the curve, it struck the railroad overpass near Railroad Avenue.

Northbound traffic on River Street is being detoured at this time.

According to Metro North the bridge is fine & train services continues to run normally.
