FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- To help with increased demand the Metro-North will soon be adding more trains.
The railroad will be adding 230 new trains a week, 28 of those on the New Haven line.
However, the trains are for off-peak and weekend riders only.
Starting in October, 20 new trains will be added on Sundays, and 8 on Saturdays. This means weekend riders will be able to catch a train to the city every 30 minutes instead of every hour.
The idea is to get them in place before the holidays.
