Greenwich, Conn. (WTNH) - Over 3,000 people are still waiting for the lights to come on in Fairfield County following last weekend's storm.
As of Friday morning, Gov. Jodi Rell says CL&P did make good on its promise to restore the primary distribution lines, but it's the smaller lines that lead to the homes that are still down.
"This morning when I get my first e-mail and the e-mail says 25 hundred, it's just not acceptable," Rell said.
The governor toured the hardest hit areas in Fairfield County earlier this week seeing the damage first hand.
"The businesses that are suffering down there. The families that have small children, some that have moved into hotel space. You know enough already - let's get the job done," Rell said.
With overtime issues now straightened out and with the help of out of state power companies, work is getting done more quickly.
As of 4pm, about 2,900 customers in Greenwich were still without power, with scattered outages elsewhere in Fairfield County.
