New London, Conn. (WTNH) - Back in 1998, WTNH News 8 sent Reporter Wendy Cicchetti and Photographer Trung Dang to fly with the Coast Guard's International Ice Patrol, to see how they track icebergs in the North Atlantic to keep ships out of danger.

We've pulled their two-part report out of the video archives to share it with you once again.

The Internatonal Ice Patrol was formed after the sinking of the RMS TITANIC. You can read about the history of the Ice Patrol at http://www.uscg.mil/history/articles/IIP_History.asp
