BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) -- Severe weather ripped through Connecticut on July 21st, 2010 and the storms included a tornado in the town of Bristol.

The National Weather Service assessed storm damage and concluded that a tornado with winds of 90 miles per hour ripped through Bristol.

Damage across the town included numerous downed trees and power lines. Some trees fell on houses and car, causing tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Other storms tore through the state, including a weaker tornado that tracked from East Litchfield to Terryville.
