NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Homeless shelters are working to get people out of harm's way ahead of the big storm.
The Columbus House shelter in New Haven tells News 8 it will make room for anyone who needs a place to stay tomorrow night.
"Our biggest concern right now is the people that are reluctant to come into shelters, who typically stay out on the streets, in encampments, in abandoned buildings and do so throughout the winter so we want to make sure that we reach those folks and let them know what's coming and encourage them to come inside," said Alison Cunningham, Exec. Director of the Columbus House.
Although Columbus House only has enough beds for 80 people, they will allow any others to stay inside the shelter so they aren't left outside in the bad weather.
